Ohana Fest 2022
Sept 29th-Oct 4th
After a quick trip back to Minnesota for Shelly’s niece Kylie’s wedding we were back on Tasi and ready for a new adventure. The Ohana Festival is an annual three day music festival in Dana Point organized by Eddie Vedder. We enlisted our friends Adam and Jackie from SV Aiya to join us for the trip. We departed San Diego at 6 am for Dana Point. The winds were light and out of the north so we ended up motoring the entire way. Although we trolled fishing lines the majority of the time we caught nothing. The only excitement was a broken alternator belt that needed to be replaced off the coast of San Diego. Once completed, the remainder of the trip was uneventful and we arrived at the city guest dock in Dana Point at 5 pm.
The Ohana Festival was a blast. It’s held on the beach at Doheny State Park in Dana Point which is a beautiful setting. Amongst the many performers, our favorites were Billy Strings, Mike Cambell and the Dirty Knobs, Jack White, Eddie Vedder, St. Vincent, and Pink.
Dana Point was a great place to visit with a safe and comfortable marina and many good restaurants and bars within walking distance. We departed in the morning on October 4th for Catalina.
